OK I feel, maybe a bit slower than most but I dont get to play as often as most!!!!

I’ve been playing World of Warcraft now for 12 days and he is currently at level 22. I guess on average I’m spending 3-4 hours a night on it so not a huge amount. Some of the guys told me when I started that they would have a character to lvl 20 within a week but maybe they have more time to play.

Anyhow, Damien has shown how to use the talents I pick up and train for (which I didn’t realise) and now I have a better understanding of ‘what I’m supposed to be doing’ I’m loving it even more and really get stuck into it. Understanding how the online gaming scenario works I suppose is the hardest bit, having never done this online gaming before and let’s be honest I haven’t been a playstation or x-box owner for years (I had an original playstation and yes we now have the Wii) but I’m getting back into it now which is coool!!

The downside is, I’m now starting to enter pvp areas which means that I will come across ‘Alliance’ players who will try to kill me, and vica versa. I’m at the lowest level at this stage of the game so can expect to be killed quite a lot and more than once on any given occassion (this is called ‘ganking or being ganked’) but hopefully it won’t slow me down too much.

I’ve now also got dual weild swords so that was what I was aiming for and killing things with this plus my warrior training is awesome.  Having said that the quests are getting harder and levelling up is harder as you need to earn points. Roll on level 30 is what I say, here I come Alliance, come get me or be got!!!!!!!!! ha ha ha lol

Both mum and Colin are not happy and I can’t blame them.

They are paying for 8 meg unlimited with BT and the speed is sooooooooooo slow…..I had Coling ring BT to complete a speed test and tey can only get 1.5 meg which I find staggering, especially as I live only 150 yards down the same road and am pulling an impressive 7 meg.

BT checked the line when the original order was placed and they confirmed that 8 was ok and they have been taking their money for almost a year now. When they asked if this could be sorted out the answer was a flat no.

They pressed them to send someone out to check it all, which they did today and the engineer is saying that it is because the cable under the ground isn’t capable of carrying more. Huh!!! What the F%$K !!!!!

They’ve been told to monitor it until Wed although quite why I don’t know, if the guy is saying you can’t get more then why bother and surely something can be done. When asked how come my son can get 7 and we can only get 1.5 his answer was ‘he’s lucky’ but I feel it has more to do with the fact that mum’s cable from the pole to her house is probably as old as from when they moved in what over 40 years ago. Our line was installed only 6 years ago so is a more modern and update one.

BT Sort it out, you’ve taken the money for a service you clearly can’t provide which means you’ve taken the money under false pretences, refund something by way of compensation and upgrade the damn line.

Or I’ll be on the case and you won’t want that!!!!!!!!

Yes, I have finally succumed to the world on online gaming, as I must say I am mightily impressed.

I’ve purchased World of Warcraft - Battle Chest and created my character, which is an Orc Warrior. As you can see from the title, I’ve called him Calexem which is of course the kids name all jumbled up. I’m currently at Level 7 and am grinding out kills and completing the quests so that I can join the others….

Others??? Yep I am a member of a guild: ‘The Elite Guards of Terramin’ and when they can sort out the technical issues on Teamspeak I will become a fully fledged member (currently I am on Teamspeak but as unregistered)

I have completed about 8 quests so far (or something like that) and have also just strated training my first profession which is a blacksmith (so that I can make weapons etc etc)

Looking forward to levelling up to a point where I can join some of the others and go kick some Alliance ass!!!!!!

I can’t believe I got this wrong. Was at mum & dad’s the weekend and we started talking about birthdays. I said that I was planning to speak with Graeme about setting up a party or something for Dad next year as it would be his 70th and to my shock and horror, mum calmly advised me that Dad was in fact 70 last month.

Mum then went on to say that if I looked at my blog post Jan 2007, I actually mention the fact that he would be 70 this year (which I just don’t remember posting) and I had it down in my head that dad was 70 the same year that we are 40.

Neither mum or dad commented on the fact that I had not given dad a Happy 70th card or that no special mention of this milestone was mentioned at all (not that I blame them of course) I just thought having not made a fuss of it, someone would have said something.

So Dad, many apologies, I can’t believe I’ve done this (but then again Graeme and Colin the same) and I’ll now speak with them about doing something, all beit a little late.
